The CDIA strives to be a nationally recognized authority in disability protection income research.

Our membership-driven Research Committee collaborates to identify and review data sources extending beyond the typical boundaries of the disability sector and, if necessary, conduct new studies to fill in critical knowledge gaps.

We aim to measure potential industry changes and impacts, share our findings with members, and disseminate relevant information to the media, consumers, employers, and advisors.

Goals and Objectives

The Research Committee is a collegial forum for members to discuss pressing issues affecting our audiences: working consumers, employers, and financial advisors. We employ a three-pronged approach focused on outside-in research, curation, and quick insights.

Member-to-Member Training

We leverage our diverse membership to explore topics of interest and concern, providing valuable analyses to help members understand the implications for their clients. Our initiatives include:

  • In-depth explorations of significant and emerging issues.
  • Sharing research to inform the development of new services and products.
  • Facilitating the exchange of insights from member companies and reinsurers.
