    The Council for Disability Income Awareness (CDIA) proudly announces that The Plus Group, Inc.® has joined as a new member firm. This partnership marks the first time a coalition of independent Brokerage General Agencies (BGAs) has aligned with the Council.

    Today, The Council for Disability Awareness is pleased to announce that it has changed its name to, “The Council for Disability Income Awareness” (CDIA). “To help better communicate our organization’s purpose and activities, the defining word, ‘Income’ has been added to our name,” said Bob Herum, president of the CDIA.

  • Is Disability Insurance a Luxury Good in America? – (March 3, 2020)
    The Council for Disability Awareness released a report today that suggests the answer is “yes.” Among the reasons why many low-to-moderate income consumers don’t have disability insurance, the most significant was, “I can’t afford it.” And almost 40 percent of those consumers in the lower income band reported their savings – if they had any – would less than one month.
  • 10 Million Single, Female Workers at Extreme Financial Risk From a Disability – (June 27, 2019)
    In a new survey, The Council for Disability Awareness uncovered that the 32-million, unmarried women workers, who make up 25 percent of today’s American workforce are underinsured for a disability. Further, the survey found that 52% of all single, working women, age 20-65, have no disability insurance at all.
